Can You Ever Have Too Many Tarzans?

Of course not.  The musical may be schmaltzy and uber-heterosexist, but it gives dozens of local hunks a chance to show off their pecs and abs.

Here are some of the Tarzans who swung across the stage during the last year.

1. Northridge High School, Utah.

2. Palo Alto Community Players.

3.Somewhere in France.

4. A Helena, Montana high school Tarzan without the dreadlocks.

5. Vorheesville High School in New York. A Tarzan who hasn't shaved, quite an anomaly.

6. Stratford High.  Where'd he get the 1980s hairstyle?

7. A black Tarzan at Goodbody High School in Tallahassee.

8.Painted-on abs in Marietta, Georgia.

  1. Aren't musicals supposed to be schmaltzy? If it's tragedy, it's an opera. Though it is funny, Tarzan goes back to the jungle without Jane in the novel. (There is a porn adaptation, straight, that is surprisingly loyal to the novel, more so than anything MGM ever did.)

But I guess it's like the MCU today. I mean, dime novels were the comics of a century ago. But what I mean is, comic book movies do change the order of events and how exactly those events go down.

    1. Musicals were all "Oh, Wnat a Beautiful Morning" in the 1950s, but the field opened up in the 1960s and 1970s, and now they come in all types: "American Psycho," "Titanic," "Bayside"
