Kevin Held: Husband, uncle, dogfather, actor. Former football player, or does the "longhorn" mean something else?

The n*de male celebrity subreddit posted "Kevin Held Longhorns," so I figured he was an athlete, a player for the Texas Longhorns (the University of Texas football team).  When I looked up his Instagram, I found "Kevin Held, Husband, Uncle, Dogfather, host of The Bright Side with Kevin and Jason."

Telling us that he's straight in the tagline...wait, he's hugging a dude in the first ten photos,including Christmas, vacations, and  "Happy Valentine's Day to my traveling companion, dancing partner, co-dog parent, trudging partner, better half, and love of my life."  

Dude has a husband. Must have come out after he retired.

Later on his Instagram, Kevin displays a poster for the  romantic comedy Analysis Paralysis (2018), with Jason T. Gaffney (right).  He discussed it on Jeff and Will's Big Fiction Podcast.

The plot: it's about "the intersection of imagination and anxiety, and the courage to reach for love."  Um... pretentious purple prose doesn't make me want to see the movie?  I just want to know if the patient (Jason) schtupps his therapist.

No. he schtupps the cute guy at the coffee shop (Kevin), who shows his backside.  

That's very open for a newly out ex-footballer.  I'm confused.

More research reveals that the subreddit was being deliberately misleading.  Kevin is not a former Texas Longhorn.  In 2011, he starred in the movie Longhorns with a lot of other n*de guys, including Dylan Vox and Stephen Matzke.

The plot: A "red-blooded, all-American, heterosexual" University ot Texas student starts experiencing gay feelings, which come to a head (so to speak) when he is trapped for the weekend with his horny straight buddies....

It did not get favorable reviews. But the c* ocks look nice.

Kevin Held has 18 acting credits listed on the IMDB, beginning with the short Chemistry (2008), where his character meets the Girl of His Dreams.  He has  several other heterosexual roles, such as the Husband in All about the Benjamins (a comedy short, not the 2002 movie), and Roger on American Housewife.

Also a lot of gay roles, such as a detective searching for his missing boyfriend on The First 24 (the IMDB closets him by saying "lover"), a  dog lover in Dog Gone It, and a guy in gay dating therapy in Outdated (2024).

But I'm sort of disappointed. I was expecting a real football player.
