Link to the n*de dudes
Scene 1: Jordan calls Steve Buscemi to ask him to be the host of his new sketch show illustrating his nightmares. Steve refuses, so Jordan guilts him: "This will be the first ever Asian sketch show. It'd be racist if you didn't do it."
Is that your boyfriend sitting at the table in your back yard, buddy?
Cut to Steve introducing the show a la Twilight Zone: "You're about to enter a realm of desire, dread, fantasy, dreams, and nightmares, hopes and horrors."
Before starting on the dreams, let's take a look at Jordan's backside (front and a n*de Pinoy dude on RG Beefcake and Boyfriends).
First Dream: Jordan is a bank robber holding five customers hostage. The police bring in Steve as a hostage negotiator.
Jordan's demand: "I want to be a famous snake." Steve tries to clarify what he means, but he gets upset and starts shooting people. They start naming famous snakes, like Kaa from The Jungle Book, but Jordan changes his mind: now he wants to be a hostage negotiator.
Dream 2: A black and white movie. Jordan is the defendant in a trial. The judge (Marc Maron, left) tells him that "your crimes represent the darkest strain of moral corruption that this bench has ever observed." In light of the heinousness of his crime, he is sentenced to "15 hugs and kisses from the nearest judge."
More after the break
Left: Marc Maron, n*de on RG Beefcake and Boyfriends.
Everyone is the courtroom is shocked: he was found guilty of manslaughter, so he should get prison time. This is a much more severe punishment. His lawyer says "I'm so sorry -- I have failed you."
The judge starts the kissing -- only on the cheek -- and hugging. The people in the courtroom gasp.
I don't like this dream. Jordan seems nonchalant about it, but everyone else thinks of same-sex kissing as the worst punishment possible. That's extremely homophobic.
Dream 3: Jordan, in a library, sees an old guy smiling at him. He says "Do you need a key to the restroom?" and "My wife's Korean," before another old guy intervenes: "Is this cracker bothering you? You're safe with me. My wife is Vietnamese." I think this is a reflection of how Asian women are hit on all the time by random creepy guys.
Jordan goes out to the parking lot, where another creepy guy accosts him with "My wife is Chinese."
Cut to the break room at work, where Jordan complains to his female coworker, "It seems like every guy in his 50s and 60s needs to tell me that his wife is Asian."
"Maybe they're just trying to relate to you."
Uh-oh, another old guy stops by: "I met my wife in Osaka." He laughs maniacally. Jordan runs. He follows: "Now they want to take away our right to say we have Asian wives."
An Uber picks him up, Uh-oh, the driver says "You have a Spanish name, but an Asian face. You must be Filipino, like my wife." He grins maniacally. The end.
On RG Beefcake and Boyfriends: I ran out of photos of the cast, so here are some random Pinoy dudes.I don't like this dream, either. A man expressing his attraction to another man is presented as creepy and terrifying. More homophobia.
Turns out that Jordan's dreams are not very inclusive. Quite the opposite.
