Casey Simpson, showing his physique on the teen idol website. I have a vague memory of a pop singer from the 1990s with that name, but otherwise I'm stumped. Who is this guy?
Dude is obviously straight. The first 50 photos on the teen idol site show him kissing, hugging, duck-lipping, and gazing in awe at The Girl. In the photos where he's with a guy, they're rarely hugging. Sometimes they're standing six feet apart.
Here he wishes fellow actor Jake Brennan Happy Birthday and says "I cherish our memories together."
His physique isn't that impressive. He'd better not be homophobic, or I'm leaving.
According to the IMDB, Casey began acting when he was three years old, on an episode of the sketch comedy show Frank TV (2007). A few years later, his career took off, with episodes of How I Met Your Mother (playing a young version of Neil Patrick Harris's horndog Barney), The Goldbergs, and The Thundermans, and a starring role in a Nickelodeon teencom.
Left: Neil Patrick Harris is gay in real life, but usually plays straight characters. Backside on RG Beefcake and Boyfriends.
Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn (2014-18) featured the shenanigans of 9-13 year old quadruplets with disparate personalities. From left to right:
Dicky (Mace Coronel), the "goodlooking" one, went on to That 90s Show
Nicky (Aidan Gallagher), the comedian, went on to The Umbrella Academy. As of this writing, he's 22, and has provided an adult video for his fans (on RG Beefcake and Boyfriends).
Ricky (Casey), the smart one.
And Dawn, the Girl.
The fan wiki lists three girlfriends or crushes for Dicky, two for Nicky, and only one for Ricky. That's minimal heterosexual interest, anyway.
More after the break
He is also famous for Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library (2017), based on a middle school chapter book, with 12 kids invited to solve clues in a vast library. Things go wrong, of course. Kyle (Casey), ends up getting a "golden key" and a job (so it's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but with books?), but no girlfriend. According to the wikipedia entry, the nerd Andrew Peckleman offers the bully Chiltington "friendship and a ride home," so they may have a gay-subtext buddy bond.
His ten episodes of Liza on Demand (2019), about a woman struggling to become "an elite tasker," may have gay interest. Helmet Guy (Carlo Sciortino) has a boyfriend (Tyrone Emanuel, left).
Just Add Magic: Mystery City (2020) may have some gay subtext interest: Siblings Zoe and Leo (Tyler Sanders) and their neighbor Ish, a girl, find a book with magical recipes. Leo falls in love with Ish, of course, but he also buddy-bondss with Cody (Casey), son of the series Bad Guy.
In a 2023 episode of the new version of Quantum Leap, Ben (Raymond Lee, left) jumps into the body of a female flight attendant in the 1970s. Cory (Casey), son of the airline's owner, is on the plane, along with his female bodyguard. He thinks that she is his friend, but in fact, she's a hijacker. He has no friends. After the crisis is resolved, Ben "gives him a rousing speech and restores his confidence." Sounds like the guy may be gay.
Casey's most recent acting role is in Lifeline (2025): Andrew (Luke Benward), a suicide hotline operator (Luke Benward) gets a call from someone claiming to be the teenage version of him (Casey)!
Benward's adult photos are on RG Beefcake and Bonding.
Update: I assumed that Andrew was the hotline operator and caller because they are at the top of the cast list, but in the trailer, they are named Steven, at the bottom. So they are the least important characters?
No canonical gay characters, but a lot of subtexts. We've seen this before with actors who have nothing but buddies as children, then move into exclusively heteronormative roles, as if male loves must be abandoned upon the earth-shaking Discovery of Girls. In 2026, Casey filmed a music video, "Love Can't Wait"
But you should know I'll do what it takes for you
It's all I want to do.
