Graham Martillo: Ritzy private school boy plays lacrosse, takes his shirt off, hugs his boyfriend, buys a Porsche. With n*de dudes from Newport .

Link to the n*de photos

I think Instagram recommends pages based purely on beefcake photos.  One of these guys is a civilian named Graham, RI AOF.  I don't post the real last names of non-actors, so he'll be Graham Martillo ("hammer" in Spanish).

Graham is the cute one on the right, in a pink suit with a blue tie.  The guy in the blue suit with the pink tie may be his boyfriend.  Is this a real date, or staged for fun?

Graham has a rather thorough biography available online.  Granddad was an artist, and dad is an architect in Newport, Rhode Island. He attended St. Philomena , a ritzy Catholic grammar school, and then St. George's, an even ritzier private boarding school.  He graduates in 2026 or 2027, depending on which profile you believe.

I like how they pose in front of the Church of St. George, an incredible Gothic Revival chapel, as if it's no big deal, just the background of their lives.

Graham plays football and lacrosse for the Fighting Clams, and works as a caddy at the Newport Country Club, where the super-wealthy come to play.

I assume that he's gay based on the many guy-hugging photos and absence of girls.

Since I'm not sure of Graham's age, I won't be looking for n*de photos, but I posted three other Newport n*de dudes on RG Beefcake and Boyfriends. One has a tree-trunk.

The Leneave Brothers: Three Catholic swimsuit models with gay-positive ads, contradictory biographies, and model d*cks

Link to the n*de photos

When Chris Leneave, aka Chris Luquin, appeared on my Instagram recommendations, I figured that he was French.  But he appears to be an American model, one of these two.  I'm not sure which yet -- all of his posts show duos or trios.

An ad from 2021. Chris (or his Mom) says that this advertises "environmentally friendly luxury swimwear" with his brother and MZ.   I still don't know which brother is Chris.

I looked for MZ, but can't find a model with that name.

Google AI thinks he might mean the Model Zone, MZ agency, based in Mexico City but with branches in Florida.  I checked the six male actors on their website, and found a n*de photo (on RG Beefcake and Boyfriends), but no one who looks like the dad above.

"The perfect shorts do exist. Community and family values etched into every line."  Family values usually means homophobia, but this looks very much like two dads and their sons frolicking on the beach.

Again, he doesn't tell us who the grown-up models are, but at least he identifies himself: Chris is the older brother.

I had even less to work with in an attempt to track down the adult models.  The closest I could come was "black male model Florida" (n*de on RG Beefcake and Boyfriends).

Diego Pooth. The name alone was worth the trip. With a Plattdeutsch dude, a Big Brother backside, and two Diego d*cks

Link to the n*de dudes

Someone named "San Diego Pooth" showed up in my recommedations.  I thought "That can't be his real name."  Poof is an old homophobic slur.  With a lisp, it's Pooth, so a double slur.  And San Diego -- Nobody is named after the town they are born in.  Must be a San Diego-area drag queen resurrecting the old slurs for their camp value.

But San Diego Pooth doesn't have any drag photos on his Instagram.  He's flexing, modeling, golfing, or dancing with a lady named Ekaterina.

Holy Cow, he's a "public figure," with 129,000 followers, and he appears in a documentary called "Born Famous."

He posts in German, which may explain the Pooth.  It may not be a slur in Germany.

Google AI says that it's a Dutch and German name, from either the Middle Low German pot (pool) or pote (young scion).

Low German or Plattdeutsch, spoken by 3-5 million people northern Germany and the Netherlands, is closer to Frisian and English than the Hochdeutsch that most American kids learned in school.  I actually learned  Plattdeutsch, so to this day I want to pronounce "Ich" with a hard K, Eek, instead of Eesch.

Left: Plattdeutsch dude from Flensburg, as far north as you can go in Germany without hitting Denmark.

English: Come to my room
Standard German: Kommst Du in mein Zimmer
Plattdeutsch: Kumm na mien Stuuv

English: I have a big sausage
Standard Germann: Ich habe eine grosse Wurst
Plattdeutsch: Ich heff i groot Wuss

Google knows all about San Diego Pooth.  He's 23 years old as of this writing, 6'2" or 6'6", son of the ultra famous Veronica Pooth and her husband Franjo.  I never heard of them, either.

Veronica is from La Paz, Bolivia, which explains the "San Diego":  Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin (1474-1548), a Nahua peasant who had visions of the Virgin Mary, became the first indigenous person to be canonized as a saint by the Roman Catholic Church -- in 2002.  Our San Diego was born in 2003.

Mom Veronica grew up in Hamburg, and won several beauty contests, including Miss Germany. Her IMDB profile shows her stufff.  I didn't think that was allowed.

She appears as "herself" in 121 tv shows, beginning with The Disney Club and 12 Stunden über den Dächern von Köln (Twelve Hours Above the Rooftops of Cologne).  The most popular seem to be Peep, Big Brother...

A contestant on Big Brother Germany  is on RG Beefcake and Boyfriends.

Star Duell, Menschen (I'd watch that), Extreme Activity, Das Star-Magazin,. Ein Herz für Kinder (a fundraiser), and Villa der Versuchung (Temptation Villa).

She also has 13 acting credits, and owns several jewelry and cosmetic brands, including Veronas Dreams and So Perfect.

Veronica married her second husband, Franjo Pooth, in 2004.  They have two chldren, San Diego and Rocco Ernesto.

Franjo is the son of famous architect Franz-Josef Pooth (the shortened form, get it?).  He studied architecture in London, then founded several companies, notably Maxfield, which Wikipedia says designs MP3 players and "trend-oriented electronic devices."

He was Maxfield's CEO from 2003 until 2008, when he was convicted of corruption and bribery and forced to step down.  Later Franjo and Veronica founded Pacific Healthcare, which sells CBD-infused cosmetics and dietary supplements.

The Gay Artist for the Catholic Schoolboy Comic Book

A Treasure Chest of Fun and Fact was a Catholic comic book, published every two weeks during the school year from 1946 to 1972, meant to be given away at parochial schools.  Its main emphasis was religion and patriotism (since American Catholics in those days were often stereotyped as anti-American, in the pocket of the Pope).

But there were lots of humor and adventure stories, too -- sports, jungle adventures, pirates -- which made for some odd juxtapositions:

"Get to Know the Sacraments" oddly juxtaposed with "El Vaquero the Cowpunching Bear."

The history of the Canadian Mounted Police juxtaposed with "But Aunt Eileen, does modern life help to destroy true values?"

My favorite juxtaposition is from the November 19, 1959 issue.  "Tarcisius Protects the Holy of Holies," an adaption of the novel Fabiola by Cardinal Wiseman.  Tarcisius was a twelve-year old boy who was trying to save the Blessed Sacrament from desecration, when an irate crowd beat him to death.

How'd you like to read that over your Corn Flakes in the morning?

Next was a humorous story about ice hockey.

Many stories were drawn by Reed Crandall (1917-1982), a Golden Age comic book artist who also drew such superheroes as the Ray, Dollman, Blackhawk and Ka'anga Lord of the Jungle, and invented Firebrand, a muscleman in an invisible shirt.

Why invisible?  So you can perv on his pecs, duh!

He also drew E.C. Horror, the Flash Gordon comic strip, and a series of illustrations for Edgar Rice Burroughs' Tarzan books.

His beautifully detailed drawings of muscular men inspired a generation of beefcake artists, including Frank Franzetta and Boris Vallejo.

After Crandall graduated from the Cleveland School of Art in 1939, he moved to New York with his mother and sister to seek work in the fledgling comic industry.  Eventually they moved back to Wichita, and Crandall lived by himself, a "confirmed bachelor," for many years.  He died in 1982.

"Confirmed bachelor," right.

I imagine that George A. Pflaum, the publisher of the Treasure Chest, never realized that one of his chief contributors was a gay man.

Revisiting Brideshead Revisited: Does the groundbreaking portrayal of (temporary) gay love hold up after 40 years? WIth bonus d*cks

January 18th, 1982, a Monday night.  I'm lying on the bed in the attic room my brother and I share, reading a book for my Advanced Spanish class.  Significantly it's Ciro Alegria's El mundo es ancho y ajeno: Broad and Alien is the World.

Link to NSFW version

I always watch tv while studying.  Tonight the only options are two boring movies, MASH (doctors during the Korean War), and something called Brideshead Revisited on PBS.  It turns out to be an adaption of the Evelyn Waugh novel about 1920s Oxford undergrad Charles Ryder (Jeremy Irons) falling in love with the flamboyant, decadent, teddy bear-toting, alcoholic Sebastian Flyte (Anthony Andrews).

They run away to Venice together. They go slumming in Soho, along with Sebastian's sister Julia.  Then Ryder begins a romantic entanglement with Julia, and the outraged Sebastian dumps him and runs off to Morocco.

Later Sebastian hooks up with a sleazy German guy named Kurt, and later still he dies.  Ryder can't marry Julia because she's Catholic and he's an atheist, so they just live together.  Later he becomes Catholic.

I'm mesmerized.  In 1982, surrounded by the hetero-horniness of workplace sitcoms, my parents demanding "What girl do you like?", and the preacher at church bellowing about homa-sekshuls, just seeing two men involved in a romance is a revelation.  Sure, no one says "gay," Ryder turns straight, and Sebastian dies, but they walk arm in arm, cuddle, even go nude sunbathing!  And everyone around knows! Even Sebastian's mother.  Even Julia, who tells Ryder that "all our loves are hints and signals," leading us to God.  A same-sex romance leads us to God?  Hear that, Preacher?

40 years have passed.  I've studied a lot of LGBT history and literature, and watched a lot of gay movies, published a lot of books and articles on queering fictional texts, and recently I decided to revisit Brideshead Revisted.

You can't go home again.  Rewatching today,  I strongly dislike Brideshead.  Sebastian is a decadent, flamboyant stereotype who ends up dead.  Ryder may fall in love with him, but then he moves on to Julia.  Evelyn Waugh, like Freud, believed that gayness is a phase -- adolescents, newly potent but forbidden access to the opposite sex, turn to each other.  Their brief period of quasi-romance ends when they move on to "mature" heterosexual love.

In 2008, the BBC aired a new version of Brideshead, with Matthew Goode as Charles Ryder and Ben Whishaw as Sebastian.  This time there's no subtext: Sebastian is gay.  But there's also no romance: Ryder is heterosexual but pretending to be interested in Sebastian to gain access to his vast wealth.

It's more honest -- and there's a lot more nudity -- but nothing can match the joy of seeing same-sex romance on screen for the very first time.

Alex Krazen: College wrestler with a physique, only male friends, an interest in short guys, and a unique quality. Plus some collegiate d*cks

Link to the NSFW version

I  don't usually post the last names of non-actors, but college wrestler Alex Krazen is unique, for reasons that will become apparent.  Besides, he has the same initials as Aleks Kurdzielewicz, who I profiled yesterday.

On his Instagram, Alex states that he is a student at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut.

But he poses in a singlet from Praire View A&M in Texas.

Comments to this photo are rather frisky: "I swear it looked at me first" and "Is it essential to be that way during wrestling matches?"

He's got some very buffed buds.

And a crazy travel itinerary.  Why would you travel to Tuscaloosa, USC, Boston, and Paris, all in the same month?

I'll take the short guy in the middle first, then the striped pants, and Alex third.  Sorry, dude.

Leonard Bernstein, Aaron the Rabbi's Son, and a poem about masks on the verge of coming out

Link to the n*de photos

Sorry for two autobiographical stories in a row, but I'm trying to build up my Fiction/Travel Index, and there aren't many tv programs around in the summertime to review.

When I was a kid, my church had no problem with classical music, but my parents hated "that longhair stuff," so there was none in the house.  My first exposure to Bach, Berlioz, Beethoven, and Mozart came through a series of Young People's Concerts which appeared occasionally on Sunday afternoons, hosted by famous composer Leonard Bernstein.

Later, when I joined the school orchestra, I learned more about Leonard Bernstein.

I saw his gay symbolism-heavy musicals, On the Town (1949), starring Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra, and West Side Story (1961), starring gay actor George Chakiris and assorted high-stepping hunks.

And his Symphony #3, Kaddish, named after the Jewish prayer for the dead.

He appeared on tv, conducting Gershwin, Mahler, and Beethoven.

No one ever mentioned that he was gay, of course, and his works revealed nothing, except maybe the Serenade for Solo Violin, Strings, Harp, and Percussion, after Plato's Symposium (1954).  The Symposium contains Plato's famous defense of same-sex love.

In the spring of my senior year, Aaron, the rabbi's son who was gay (but didn't know it yet), invited me to a performance of Bernstein's Mass, a musical theater piece based on the Latin Mass.

"Wait -- isn't Bernstein Jewish?"

He nodded.  "That's what makes it interesting."

Nazarenes weren't supposed to associate with Catholics, or have anything to do with Catholic music, so of course I wanted to go.

There are three acts.

Act 1: Devotion and Celebration.  The celebrant invites the congregants to worship.  They begin authentically, but then doubt creeps in.  Nazarenes were told that it was a sin to doubt the existence of God, the inerrancy of the Bible, or the fundamental beliefs like the Virgin Birth: the Devil's primary temptation was not to do bad things, but to doubt. But here it is celebrated as part of the worship experience.  How can God be with us when there is so much suffering in the world?

Originally the congregants mentioned war, but in more recent versions, they mention racism and homophobia.

Act 2:  Crisis and Collapse
: The anxieties and doubts of the congregants take their toll on the celebrant, who has a spiritual collapse, breaks the sacred objects, and screams in rage against God.

What  I say -- I don't feel.
What I feel -- I can't show.
What I show -- isn't real.
What is real?  Oh Lord, I don't know.

Suddenly I realized that he was mirroring the interrogation that I received constantly from parents, friends, teachers, my brother, the preacher at church,  "What girl do you like?  What girl?  What girl?  What girl?"

Every boy has discovered girls at your age.  Every boy has experienced True Love, that fills "the hearts of boy and girl with mutual flame."  If you haven't, you must pretend.  Smile, grin, flirt, talk about how much you long for feminine smiles, every day, every hour, for the rest of your life.

In the third act, Resolution, a boy emerges from the congregation and sings "I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help," offering hope in the midst of despair.  The celebrant is restored, and the Mass continues.

But I wasn't paying attention.

Wake Up Dead Man: Daniel Craig's gay detective solves a locked-room murder, with a hot priest, some MAGA suspects, and a lot of Catholic c*cks

Link to the n*de photos

For movie night this week, we saw Wake Up Dead Man (2025), the third of the Knives Out mysteries starring Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig, left), a posh Southern-accented detective who draws inspiration from classic murder writers like Agatha Christie, Dorothy Sayers, and Ngaio Marsh.

This one involves Father Jed (Josh O'Connor), a boxer who accidentally killed his opponent in the ring, and became a priest to expiate his guilt.  When he loses control and punches an a*hole deacon, he is assigned to a struggling parish in upstate New York.

Left: Exteriors were filmed at the Anglican Church of the Holy Innocents, in Epping Forest, near London, built in 1873, praised as a masterpiece of Gothic Revival architecture.

It is struggling because of Monseigneur Wicks (Josh Brolin).  Monseigneur is an honorary title bestowed by the Pope, but this Monseigneur has bestowed it upon himself.  He has turned the congregation into an evangelical cult, preaching about the End Times and the War against Christianity, promising eternal damnation to anyone who challenges his authority, and screaming at visitors who he thinks are disobeying God's law: first a single mother, and then a gay couple.

The gay couple is played by HIV activist Hugh Wyld and Matthew Jacobs-Morgan, who runs Coven, a queer bar and art venue in Hackney.

Father Jed thinks that the Church should be about love and forgiveness, a place where "everyone is welcome," but the Monseigneur sneers that he is ridiculously naive: why would you open the Church to the enemies of God? This is War!

In fact, the Monseigneur has only seven True Believers left.

Noah Galvin: 7 gay characters, a husband, a pride cake, and a lot of d*ck pics, and guys still think that he's straight?

Link to the n*de photos

I never watched The Real O'Neals, 2016-17, about a "perfect" Irish Catholic family where the parents discover that they're not so perfect after all: Dad (Jay R. Ferguson, left) wants a divorce, and their kids all suffer from various disorders and psychological problems.  Eldest son (Matt Shively) has an eating disorder; daughter suffers from kleptomania and enjoys con games; and middle son Noah Galvin is gay.

Being gay as a mental disorder, the equivalent of anorexia and kleptomania.  You see the problem I had with this show.

At least, after some "We've got to find a way to cure you!" hand-wringing, Mom is relatively tolerant.

Interestingly, RuPaul, Jane Lynch, and Lance Bass agreed to play themselves, and it got a Dorian Award for the best LGBTQ show of the year.

Ok, I watched a few episodes for the hunky Matt Shively, and for Noah's character bulging in a wrestling singlet.  He bulged a lot.

The Real O'Neals was the 22-year old Noah's first major acting gig.  He went on to play Marty in Assassination Nation, 2018: a hacker who finds a video of the mayor wearing women's clothing. Upon discovery, the guy kills himself.

Co-Ed, 2018, a quickly cancelled series about male and female college roommates.  Noah's character was gay, and dating Clark Moore.

George in Booksmart, 2019, about two high school girls, one a lesbian, who want to let loose after being A-earning dweebs for the last 12 years. Noah's character is gay, and running a murder mystery party with his bff Austin Crute. Skyler Gisondo stars as Jared, who is having his own party on his yacht.

The Two Princes, an animated Spotify series that pairs Prince Rupert, Noah, with Prince Amir, Ariel Stachel, whom you can't research because google insists on changing "stachel" to "satchel" and trying to sell you handbags.

The Other Two: he plays Eddie, who pretends that he is new to the gay world, and his lover is his Dad, s "trying to understand," so they can win $30,000 on Pat Dubchek's Ellen-like talk show.

Glenn Winthrop in Theater Camp, 2023. Noah and future husband Ben Platt wrote the screenplay about trying to save the camp.  Their characters fall in love.

Steve Bond: Tarzan boy turned Playgirl model turned soap hunk in the steamy 1970s

Link to the n*de photos

The October 1975 issue of Playgirl featured a layout of model/actor Steve Bond.  They quickly became the most famous n*de photos in the world (not counting those of Christopher George)

Not because he was a man-mountain -- no bodybuilder, he had the tight, pleasantly muscled physique of a New Sensitive Man.

Not because of his size beneath the equator, though he was huge.

Because of the contrast.

The last time anyone had seen Steve Bond, the 14-year old Israeli actor, born Schlomo Goldberg, was making his screen debut, in a 1968 Tarzan movie starring Mike Henry.

Seven years makes a big difference.

After one or two more child-actor roles, Steve went back home to Israel, finished high school, and completed his mandatory military service.  Now he was in L.A. again, ready to hit the big time.  The nude photos came at a moment of desperation, when he was flat broke

Unfortunately, posing in your birthday suit was still controversial in 1975, and Steve found it difficult getting the attention of casting directors. During the next decade, he played some street toughs, some sexploitation studs, a Chippendales dancer, and a forest ranger investigating some teen murders (in The Prey, 1984).

Finally, hoping that the photos were long forgotten, he landed one of the defining roles of his career, good old boy Jimmy Lee Holt on General Hospital (1983-87).

No such luck.  In 1985, an eagle-eyed editor at Playgirl discovered the old photos, and reprinted them.  Steve was devastated.  What would happen when the General Hospital producers found out?  Would he be fired?

Turns out that nothing happened.  Jimmy Lee Holt was too popular to dismiss. The GH producers even commissioned a Speedo poster to show off Steve's assets.

He got profiled in teen magazines and Muscle & Fitness.

Peder Lindell: Vampire, magician, pilot, gay skater, gay Catholic school boy. With possible Peder penis

Ok, this time I checked in advance, so I don't get tricked by another interloper on the red carpet.

Link to the nude photos

The Disney wiki lists Peder Lindell in the cast of  The Rise of the Red as Morgie, the teenage son of Morgan Le Fay from the Arthurian mythos.

The character does not appear in earlier "Descendants" movies or tv shows, but he looks like he might be gay.

Peder grew up in Northfield, Minnesota, and began acting at age 11. with a role in a stage version of On Golden Pond at the Minnesota Jungle Theater.  He went on to star in Gypsy, and then as Jason, a closeted gay student at a homophobic Catholic school, in Bare: A Pop Opera.

Jordan Luke Gage played Jason in the West End revival.  Spoiler alert: the gay dude dies.

Peder is currently a theater arts major at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.

He has his pilot's license and certification as an Advanced Rescue Diver and Emergency First Responder.

And he has a boyfriend and a little dog.

Of his six acting credits on the IMDB, three are shorts:

Out of My Hands, about a boy and a gun, aired at the Catalina Film Festival.

Leak seems to be about a boy in a jar.

Scraps depicts a gay romance between skateboarders in Montana in the homophobic early 2000s.  It's the "first Montana LGBTQ skate film."
