In Wonder Man Episode 1.6 (2026), famous director Von Kovak calls six actors, including closeted superhero Simon (Yahya Abdul-Mateen) and his buddy-with-a-secret-agenda Trevor (Ben Kingsley) to his mansion to audition for the parts of superhero Wonder Man and his devious sidekick. He has them go through various improv exercises, mostly involving romantic partners breaking up.
Good buddy Trevor is paired with Short Guy Olly (Bradley Tejeda), which makes Simon jealous. It's just acting, buddy. He still loves you.
Simon is paired with Manuel (Carlos Leal), who is famous in Latin America.
The elderly Richard (Simon Templeman) is paired with Jake (Alex Polcyn, top photo), a surfing instructor who was "discovered," like in Golden Age Hollywood.
I wanted to profile Bradley Tejeda, so I checked his social media: no shirtless shots, no gay roles, dead end.
On a whim, I checked out the other guys.Carlos Leal (on RG Beefcake and Boyfriends): n*de photos, but no gay roles.
Simon Templeman: Played Oscar Wilde and Alan Turning, but no beefcake.
Alex Polcyn: payday! His Instagram is overloaded with modeling photos, and AZ Men has a n*de photo, where he's hooking up with a dude in something called This Close.
And there is a ton of beefcake on his Instagram, including some very revealing undwear shots.
No guy-hugging photos except one with his brother. Plus he's shown hugging and kissing a woman, going on dates with her, posing with at Christmastime, and grinning as she displays her body parts, so I'm going to peg him as straight. But let's see if there are any other gay roles.
More after the break
Alex was born in Highland Park, Michigan, in 1986, and attended the University of Michigan, where he appeared in As You like it, Sweet Bird of Youth, and J.B. (the story of Job). After receiving his BFA in 2008, he moved to Chicago, and got involved in the theater scene, with some gay-themed plays.
A Perfect Relationship (2009), a revival of a classic gay liberation play by Doric Wilson. Gay roommates in the 1970s bring home a trick (Alex), with complications all around.
Lorca in a Green Dress (2012): The recently murdered gay poet (Adrian Gonzalez) finds himself in a green room, where he meets various aspects of himself. The guy in the green dress (Alex) represents his "s*nsual side."
Dysfunctional Family Christmas (2013): Mom and Dad find Grandpa dead...just before their three adult children visit for Christmas. Each has a problem: Daughter has a Jewish boyfriend. Younger son was not wanted, and is ignored. Older son (Alex) brings a girlfriend, but everyone thinks that he's gay (including the girlfriend).
Alex breaks into tv in 2016, with episodes of Secrets and Lies, Betrayed, and...
Now What (2016): "These personal exposés begin at the moment of (censored) and reveal the unique candor of après-censored pillow talk." The cowardly IMDB description doesn't tell you that the moments all involve Scott (Paul Galliano), a gay man.
Alex appears in Episode 1.4, "Broke Gay Boys." It's the condom that breaks.
That's a lot of acting for a straight boy.
Then came Rekindled (2017), about a woman trying to find love again, and This Close (2018-19), a drama about two friends, the newly engaged Kate and the newly-dumped Michael (Joshua Feldman). The cowardly IMDB synopsis doesn't tell you that they are both deaf, and Michael is gay. In Episode 1.1, the duo travel to Seattle, where Michael hooks up with Seattle Man (Alex). In other episodes, Michael gets with Colt Prattes, Joseph Haro, Angel Garet, and David Walsh. Where can I stream this series?
Gossip Boy (2019) is a webseries about "maturing through gay and straight issues affecting everyone." That's Cowardly IMDB speech for "we want to pretend that it's not about gay people."
Alex plays Joshua, "a bitter young man who has given up on love." Then he gets a boyfriend (Matthew Arnett), who is murdered. Bummer.
Are you sure you're straight, buddy?
According to his linkedin, Alex is also a film producer, working for Rocket Films, Dopamine Productions, Pulse Films, and CYLNDR Studios (which prpoduces tv commercials). His big production, which just got Sundanced, is Better Angels: The Gospel According to Tammy Faye (2025).
Tammy Faye Messner (1942-2007) was a famous televangelist, the co-host of the PTL Club, and for some reason a gay icon.
But he also produced Water Angel (2025) about a man and a woman facing tragedy while pregnant.
And if he's gay, how do you explain the absence of guy-hugging photos in his social media, coupled with cozy heterosexual family photos?
Oh well, let's take a look at his c*ck (on RG Beefcake and Boyfriends).

Davo Hardy: Australian filmmaker with a lot of gay roles and a video. Plus his boyfriends. And his buddies' c*cks. With deaf actors.
